The quick version

Most Western passport holders get 90 days visa-free on arrival. Just show up with a passport valid for 6+ months and a printed or digital proof of onward travel, and you’re in. Always check official sources close to your travel date — rules change.

Visa-free (90 days)

Common nationalities in this group at time of writing: most EU citizens, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico. No form needed — they stamp you on arrival.

e-Visa holders

Morocco now has an e-Visa for roughly 100+ nationalities that previously had to apply via embassy, including India, Thailand, Philippines, many African countries. Apply online at the official portal 30–180 days before travel. ~€35–40, usually issued in 72h.

Who still needs an embassy visa

A smaller set of countries, including certain African and Central Asian nationalities. Check Morocco’s consulate website for your passport.

Passport requirements

  • Valid for at least 6 months after your entry date.
  • At least one blank page for the entry stamp.
  • Proof of onward travel (flight or ferry) — sometimes asked at check-in or border.

Extending your stay

Tourist stays CAN be extended once at a local police station (Bureau des Étrangers) for 90 more days, but the process is bureaucratic and slow. Most travellers just exit and re-enter via a Spanish enclave (Ceuta / Melilla) or a short flight.

Overstay

Overstaying is treated seriously — fines, possible ban on re-entry. Leave on time, or extend officially before your 90 days are up.
