Book hostels in Tamraght
Beginner-friendly surf village between Aourir and Taghazout. Crocodile Beach, sunset cliffs.
Tamraght sits on the N1 between Aourir and Taghazout — a low-rise village climbing a hill above a long sandy beach known as Crocodile Beach (named after a rock that roughly looks like one). It's the gentle middle ground: more chill than Taghazout, more amenities than Imi Ouaddar, with the best beginner waves on the Agadir coast.
Highlights
- Surf lessons at Crocodile Beach
- Sunset from the cliff above the village
- Yoga shala at one of the surf-yoga retreats
- Friday market 5 min walk down to Aourir
- Surfari to Anchor Point in Taghazout (5 min drive)
Best for
- Surf-yoga retreats
- Beginner & intermediate surfers
- Couples wanting calm coast
- Long-stay nomads

Where to stay — neighborhoods
Not all hostels are in the same part of town. Here’s how each area compares.
Crocodile Beach side
Best for: Surfers, beach walks
Lower part of the village, 2-min walk to the sand. Most surf camps and beach cafés are here.
Hill / cliff
Best for: Sunset view, quieter stays
Climb 5 min uphill for the famous Tamraght sunset and cooler, quieter guesthouses with terrace views.
Tips from us
- Walk the cliff path to Taghazout at sunset — 30 min, free, the best view of the coast.
- Buy your boards from the second-hand stalls in Aourir, not the surf-camp shops.
- Most camps offer free pickups from Agadir airport — ask before booking a taxi.
- Vegetarian and gluten-free are easy here; surf-yoga crowd has shaped the menus.
- Rent a scooter (€10/day) to explore Imi Ouaddar and Cap Ghir to the north.
